Buddleja cuspidata is a shrub species that is native to Madagascar and typically grows along river banks. It was first identified and described by Baker in 1895. The plant can reach heights of 3-4 meters and has brown branchlets with quadrangular shapes. Its leaves are opposite, ovate or elliptic in shape, and have serrated or crenated margins. The inflorescences are narrow and yellow, and the corollas are 7.5-8.5 mm long. This species is closely related to B. axillaris and B. sphaerocalyx. Currently, there are no known instances of Buddleja cuspidata being cultivated.
