Penstemon palmeri, also known as Palmer's penstemon, is a perennial flowering plant in the Plantaginaceae family. It is named after botanist Edward Palmer and is known for its showy, fragrant flowers. This plant is native to desert mountains in various states in the western United States and can grow up to 2 meters tall. It prefers well-draining, dry soils and can be found in a variety of habitats such as washes, roadsides, and woodlands. The flowers of Penstemon palmeri are pink, violet, or blue-purple and have five lobes. There are three varieties of this plant, with the most common being Palmer's penstemon. It is also a host to two butterfly species.
