Mimulus alatus, the sharpwing monkeyflower, is an herbaceous eudicot perennial native to North America. It has green foliage and blue to violet flowers with a bilabiate corolla, suggesting a monkey's face, and winged stems. It grows best in wet to moist conditions and blooms from June to September. It is most commonly found in the central and lower Mississippi valley and is considered rare in some states. Its primary pollinators are bumblebees, and it is often confused with Mimulus ringens, the square-stemmed monkeyflower.
