Diplacus vandenbergensis, also known as the Vandenberg monkeyflower, is a small annual plant in the Phrymaceae family. It is native to the Burton Mesa Ecological Reserve in Santa Barbara County, California and is considered an endangered species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This plant grows up to 20 cm in height and has narrow elliptic leaves. Its yellow flowers bloom between May and June and the fruit is 6.5-13 mm long. The Vandenberg monkeyflower primarily grows in chaparral, cismontane woodlands, and coastal dunes, where it is protected from external threats. However, it is at risk from invasive plant species, development, and off-road vehicles. In 2014, critical habitat was allocated for this species within the reserve to help protect it.
