Diplacus fremontii, also known as Frémont's monkeyflower, is a plant species found in California and Baja California. It typically grows in mountain and desert areas, particularly in moist or disturbed environments. Previously known as Mimulus fremontii, this annual herb has a thin stem and oval leaves that can grow up to 3 centimeters long. The flower has a tubular base surrounded by a wide, ribbed, and hairy calyx of sepals, with a reddish-purple corolla and a darker pink throat with a yellow spot. While most flowers are this color, there are occasional all-yellow flowers as well. The flower itself is relatively small, measuring one to two centimeters in length.
