Agalinis itambensis is a unique plant species found only in the Serra do Itambé region of Brazil. It is a small herb that can grow up to 30 cm tall and has round or slightly angled stems. The leaves are narrow and linear, reaching up to 2.5 cm in length. The flowers of this plant are strongly zygomorphic, meaning they have a distinct bilateral symmetry, and can grow up to 2 cm long. They are a vibrant magenta color with creamy stripes and purple spots. This plant is a rare and beautiful addition to the biodiversity of Brazil.
