Jasminum multipartitum, also known as starry wild jasmine, African jasmine, or imfohlafohlane, is a species of jasmine native to Southern Africa. It can grow up to 3 meters tall and produces white, scented, star-shaped flowers that attract birds. This plant thrives in both sun and semi-shade and blooms from late spring to summer. It is one of ten jasmine species found in South Africa and is naturally found in woodlands in the Eastern Cape, Kwazulu Natal, and as far inland as Johannesburg. The name "Jasminum" comes from the Arabic word for sweetly scented plants, while "multipartitum" refers to its leaves being divided into many parts.
