Thymus lotocephalus, also known as erva-ursa in Portuguese, is a type of flowering plant that belongs to the mint family. It is native to southern Portugal, particularly in central Algarve. This plant can be found in both coastal and inland areas, growing in pine forest clearings, xerophilic scrub, and thyme. It thrives in sandy, acidic substrates on the coast and marginal or calcareous substrates in the interior. Thymus lotocephalus is also known to prefer areas that are somewhat decarbonated.
