It is a perennial herbaceous plant growing to a height of up to 60 cm. The leaves are opposite, lanceolate to ovate, and up to 8 cm long. The flowers are blue, with a calyx of five fused sepals. The fruit is a four-valved capsule containing numerous small seeds.

Scutellaria hastifolia is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows up to 60 cm tall and has lanceolate to ovate leaves that are up to 8 cm long. The flowers are blue and have a calyx of five fused sepals. The fruit is a four-valved capsule containing numerous small seeds. Its native range is Europe to Western Siberia and Caucasus.
