Scutellaria brittonii, also known as Britton's skullcap, is a perennial plant found in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Kansas in the United States. It belongs to the mint family and grows on dry mountain slopes in full sun. This plant can reach a height of 4"-8" in a single season and has long, thin leaves that grow opposite each other on a square stem. The flowers, which grow out of a reddish purple calyx, are composed of a hornlike tube that opens into a hooded flower. The base of the tube is white and becomes more purple towards the top. The upper hood of the flower is narrower than the lower lip, which fans out below it. The plant is covered in soft, short hairs.
