Salvia namaensis is a perennial shrub found in a limited area of Namibia and a wide area of South Africa. It grows on rocky slopes, shales, limestone hills, and sandy soils at elevations between 1,000 to 5,000 feet. The plant's specific epithet, namaensis, is believed to refer to the Nama tribe, native to the region where it is found. This shrub has small, irregularly shaped leaves and reaches a height and width of 3 feet. Its inflorescences are short and contain 2 to 6 flowers in each whorl. The flowers are typically white or pale blue, but some have been reported to have mauve flowers.
