Salvia marashica is a unique perennial plant found only in Ahır Mountain, near Kahramanmaraş in Turkey. It can be found growing on rocky slopes at elevations between 850 to 1,700 meters. This plant grows upright with multiple stems, reaching heights of 30 to 70 cm. Its leaves are pinnatisect and range from 1.2 to 7 cm in length and 0.3 to 1.8 cm in width. What sets S. marashica apart from other Salvia species is its inflorescence, which is covered in black-headed glandular hairs. The flowers are pink and measure between 2 to 2.8 cm in length. The plant's name is derived from the city of Kahramanmaras, where the first specimen was collected.
