Salvia buchananii, or Buchanan's sage, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family Lamiaceae. It was first found in the garden of an English family in Mexico City in the 1950s, and was later described by Ian Charleson Hedge in the Botanical Magazine in 1963. It grows 1-2 feet tall and 1 foot wide, with glossy green leaves and rich magenta flowers. It is native to the northeastern extreme of the state of Querétaro, Mexico, and is similar to Salvia blepharophylla. It is easy to propagate from cuttings and has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
