Salvia amplifrons is an herb native to Bolivia, growing in forest shade on moist ground at elevations of 8,690 to 9,840 feet. It grows upright to 30 to 60 centimeters tall, with ovate or ovate-elliptic leaves that are 5 to 12 centimeters long and 3.5 to 8 centimeters wide. The inflorescence is a terminal raceme with 6-flowered verticillasters, up to 10 centimeters long. The corolla is white with slight blue flushing, measuring 12 to 15 millimeters in diameter.
