Rotheca serrata, commonly known as the blue fountain bush, the blue-flowered glory tree or the beetle killer, is a species of flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae. It is native to India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, and grows to a height of up to 8 feet (2.4 m). The squarish stems are sparsely branched, and the young growth is glabrous. The leaves are oval, serrated and hairless, and the flowers are small and form part of an erect pyramidal panicle up to 10 in (25 cm) long. The corolla of each flower is blue, cylindrical, and the fruit is a four-lobed fleshy drupe, green at first and black when ripe. The plant is used in Ayurveda for snake bites, and has various common names in different languages.
