Pycnanthemum californicum, also known as Sierra mint, mountain mint, and California mint, is a flowering plant in the mint family. It is native to California and can be found in the Sierra Nevada, Peninsular Ranges, Eastern Transverse Ranges, and Inner Northern California Coast Ranges. This plant grows at elevations of 500-1,900 metres in various habitats such as chaparral, oak woodland, mixed evergreen forest, and Yellow pine forest. It is a perennial herb that can reach a height of 0.5-1 metre and has hairless to fuzzy, aromatic leaves. The flowers, which bloom from June to September, have a whitish upper lip and a purplish lower lip with occasional spots.
