Prostanthera albohirta is a small, densely-foliaged shrub with egg-shaped leaves and lilac to lavender flowers. It is endemic to a restricted area in Queensland and was first described in 1936. The species was only known from one collection until it was rediscovered in 2013 on Mount Emerald. It is classified as critically endangered due to threats such as inappropriate fire regimes, weed invasion, and habitat loss.
