Monardella undulata subsp. crispa, also known as Monardella crispa, is a rare subspecies of flowering plant in the mint family. It is found only in California, specifically on the sand dunes along the coast of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. This aromatic perennial herb grows in a low, spreading mat with stems up to 0.5 meters long. Its leaves are fleshy, waxy, and sometimes woolly, and are clustered along the stem. The flowers are purplish pink and bloom in a cup of papery, hairy bracts. This plant is also known by its common name, crisp monardella.
