Monardella odoratissima is a perennial flowering plant native to Northern California and parts of the western United States. It is a member of the mint family and has a strong minty odor. It grows in mountain forests and sagebrush scrub, and can reach up to 3 feet in height. It has lance-shaped to ovate leaves and flowers which range in color from white and pale pink to light bluish-purple. It is easy to grow as a garden plant and is attractive to butterflies. It blooms from April to August and should be deadheaded to keep it looking its best.
