Marrubium peregrinum, also known as horehound, is a perennial herb that can grow up to 60 cm tall. It is native to southeastern Europe, the Balkans, and Asia Minor. This plant has several synonyms, including Atirbesia bracteata, Marrubium affine, and Marrubium angustifolium. It has been used in traditional medicine for its medicinal properties and is also commonly used as a flavoring in food and drinks. Other names for this plant include Marrubium creticum, Marrubium odoratissimum, and Marrubium rubrum.
