Lavandula lanata, also known as woolly lavender, is a type of flowering plant found in the Lamiaceae family and is native to southern Spain. This evergreen dwarf shrub has a height and width of 1 meter and is known for its silver woolly hairs on its leaves, which is where its Latin name comes from. The plant produces deep violet purple flowers on narrow spikes and has a distinct lavender scent. It is commonly grown in temperate regions for its attractive appearance and fragrance. While it can tolerate temperatures as low as -5°C, it prefers warm and sheltered areas with full sun. It has been recognized by the Royal Horticultural Society with the Award of Garden Merit.
