Afrofittonia, also known as the hunter's weed, is a genus of plants in the Acanthaceae family. It is a single species, Afrofittonia silvestris, found in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Nigeria in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. This plant is at risk due to habitat loss caused by oil and gas drilling. The genus name is a tribute to Irish botanist Sarah Mary Fitton and her sister Elizabeth Fitton, and the specific epithet means woodland. It was first described in 1913 and is recognized by the US Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Research Service, although no other species are listed.
