Coprosma lanceolaris is a flowering plant in the Rubiaceae family, with its name derived from the Latin words for "spear" and "pertaining to" due to the shape of its leaves. This shrub can reach up to 2 meters in height and has fleshy, bright green leaves that emit a strong odor when crushed. Its small green flowers bloom from mid May to mid October, followed by egg-shaped red fruits. This species is native to Australia's subtropical Lord Howe Island and is commonly found in the island's montane forests at elevations above 500 meters.
