Sabatia kennedyana, also known as Plymouth rose gentian, is a flowering plant in the gentian family native to eastern North America. It has a disjunct distribution, found in Nova Scotia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This plant grows in wetlands, particularly in areas with fluctuating water levels and natural disturbances that eliminate competing vegetation. It is a poor competitor with other plants. Sabatia kennedyana is a perennial herb with pink flowers and a white or yellow center. It is sometimes considered the same species as Sabatia dodecandra. This plant is threatened by human activities such as shoreline development, recreational activity, and pollution, as well as natural disturbances like off-road vehicles and construction of hydroelectric dams. Conservation efforts are needed to protect this species.
