Hoodia officinalis is a succulent plant found in Namibia and the Cape Province of South Africa. It has two subspecies, subsp. officinalis and subsp. delaetiana, which can be distinguished by their distribution. Subsp. delaetiana is larger and found only in the Klinghardt Mountains. H. officinalis typically grows to a height of 20-40 centimeters.
