Juglans neotropica, also known as Colombian walnut, Ecuadorian walnut, or Andean walnut, is a slow-growing tree found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It is threatened by habitat loss and is typically found in Pre-Montane and Montane forests. The tree produces edible fruit with a hard shell and a sweet flavor, and its sap can be used as a dye. The wood of the Andean walnut is highly prized for its durability and is commonly used in furniture and other decorative items.
