Alnus oblongifolia, also known as Arizona alder, is a large tree that can reach up to 72 feet in height. It is found in the southwestern United States and northern Sonora, Mexico, and can be found in various mountain ranges across Arizona and western New Mexico. While its range extends to the White Mountains region in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico, it is only found in scattered mountain locales in other parts of New Mexico. In southern Arizona, it is found in two mountain regions and in neighboring Sonora near the Sierra Madre Occidental cordillera. It can also be found in isolated mountain areas in southwest Chihuahua and northwest Durango, which are part of the eastern Sierra Madre Occidentals.
