Xanthophyllum tardicrescens is a tree belonging to the Polygalaceae family, known for its slow growth and twigs. It can reach a height of 6 meters and a trunk diameter of 6 centimeters. The flowers are white and turn yellowish orange when dried, while the fruits are yellowish green and round in shape. This species is found only in Borneo and thrives in mixed dipterocarp forests.
