Xanthophyllum resupinatum is a tree belonging to the Polygalaceae family, known for its upside-down appearance leaves, as its specific epithet suggests. It can grow up to 25 meters tall and has a trunk diameter of up to 40 centimeters. The bark is smooth and grey or brown in color. The flowers are white and turn dark brown when dried, while the fruits are blackish and about 1.2 cm in diameter. This tree is only found in Borneo and can be found in mixed dipterocarp forests at altitudes ranging from sea-level to 600 meters.
