Cicer judaicum serves as a valuable genetic resource for chickpea (C. arietinum) improvement programs worldwide. Its documented uses include: (1) source material for transfer of disease resistance traits such as Fusarium wilt and Ascochyta blight resistance genes; (2) reference material in genetic diversity studies of the Cicer genus; (3) material for constructing interspecific linkage maps for marker-assisted selection; and (4) germplasm for pre-breeding programs targeting abiotic stress tolerance. It is maintained in national and international gene banks including the USDA National Plant Germplasm System and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) collection. Specimens are used in taxonomic comparisons and phylogenetic studies of the tribe Cicereae.

Note: No documented commercial/industrial/culinary uses were found in reliable references for this taxon.
