Xylia xylocarpa is a species of tree in the Fabaceae family, specifically in the mimosoid clade of the subfamily Caesalpinioideae. It is a perennial tree with bright yellow flowers and produces hardwood, earning it the name "ironwood" in Vietnam. The wood is used for traditional cart-making and can also be made into wrapping paper. The tree's seeds are edible and it is considered a medicinal plant in India. In Thailand, the leaves are used to treat wounds in elephants. Xylia xylocarpa is found in South and Southeast Asia and has various common names such as Pyinkado, Căm xe, Sokram, Jamba or Jambe, and Kangada. It has also been planted in parts of East Africa. In Thailand, it is known as mai deng and is used in reforestation efforts.
