Strophostyles leiosperma, also known as slickseed fuzzybean or smoothseed/small-flower wildbean, is a herbaceous, vining legume found in the central to western United States. It can be found in states such as Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, and even as far north as Minnesota. This species can be easily identified by its small, silky-haired leaves and pods, as well as its small pea-shaped flowers with a reduced keel. Unlike other Strophostyles species, S. leiosperma is an annual to short-lived perennial and tends to be smaller in size. Its leaflets are thin and rarely lobed, and its seeds do not have a waxy or hairy covering. This species is also able to self-fertilize and is commonly found in drier areas. Its specific epithet, leiosperma, means "smooth seed."
