Senegalia thomasii is a species of shrub or small tree that belongs to the Fabaceae family. It can grow up to 12 meters tall and is commonly found in Kenya. The branches of this species are elongated and straight or virgately branched, with young branches being grayish in color and densely pubescent. It also has prickles in threes that are usually blackish and up to 7.5 mm long. The leaves have 1-2 pairs of pinnae and 7-15 leaflets per pinnae, with an oblong shape. The inflorescence consists of spikes up to 10 cm long, with glabrous calyx and corolla. The fruits are brown to yellowish brown pods that contain circular to lenticular shaped seeds.
