Senegalia dudgeonii is a small tree that can reach up to 9 meters in height. It is a member of the Fabaceae family and is found in the Sudano-Sahelian and Guinea savannah zones of West Africa. The bark of this tree is brown-reddish with stripes and its leaves are alternate and bipinnate, with 20-30 pairs of leaflets and 20 pairs of pinnae. The tree produces white or cream flowers that are 2.5-6 cm long and are usually shorter than the leaves. It is endemic to the Sudanian and Guinea savannah regions of West Africa, with a distribution that extends from Senegal to the Central African Republic. The roots of Senegalia dudgeonii are used to treat snake bites, while extracts from the bark are used to treat dysentery and diarrhea.
