Gastrolobium acrocaroli is a unique shrub that is only found in a specific location in the south-west of Western Australia. Belonging to the Fabaceae family, it can grow up to 2.7 metres tall and produces vibrant orange yellow pea-flowers during either April or September to November. This species was first described by botanists Gregory Chandler and Michael Crisp in 2002 and its name is derived from the Greek words for "top" and "Charles", referencing its location at Peak Charles National Park. It is mainly found in the Eastern Mallee region, specifically on skeletal soils over granite and rock outcrops, in open shrubland or dense heath.
