Daviesia alternifolia is a flowering plant that belongs to the Fabaceae family and is found only in the south-west region of Western Australia. It is a dense shrub with small, hairy leaves and orange and red flowers with a greenish-yellow center. The plant typically grows to a height of 35 cm and has egg-shaped leaves with a pointed tip. Its flowers are arranged in pairs or threes on a long stem and bloom from September to January. This species was first described in 1838 and its name, alternifolia, refers to its alternate leaves. It mainly grows in open forests on flats, hillsides, and swamps in the Stirling Range, Denmark, and Cheyne Beach areas. Daviesia alternifolia is not considered a threatened species by the Western Australian government.
