Cassia marksiana, also known as Marks cassia, is a rainforest tree found in northeastern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland in Australia. It is named after Dr. C. F. Marks, a botanical collector, and is also known as cigar cassia, brush cassia, and native laburnum. Its habitat is in seaside and lowland subtropical rainforests, which have been largely destroyed, leaving only small patches remaining. This has led to the species being listed as endangered, with less than 100 trees known to exist in the wild. The tree can grow up to 25 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 50 cm, and has grey-brown wrinkled bark. Its compound leaves have four to 16 leaflets, which are lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate in shape. The tree produces showy yellow flowers from September to November, followed by long, thin pods that mature from June to October.
