Astragalus malacus, also known as shaggy milkvetch, is a perennial herb found in the Great Basin region of the western United States. It can grow up to 40 centimeters tall and has oval-shaped leaves made up of many leaflets. The plant produces magenta flowers in groups of up to 35, each about 2 centimeters long. The stem, leaves, inflorescence, and sepals are covered in long, white hairs. The fruit is a hairy, papery legume pod that can reach up to 4 centimeters in length.
