Astragalus jaegerianus, also known as Lane Mountain milkvetch, is a rare plant species named after biologist Edmund Jaeger. It is found in only four populations in northeastern San Bernardino County, California and is considered an endangered species. This perennial herb has thin stems covered in scaly hairs and can grow up to 70 centimeters in length. Its leaves are made up of several narrow leaflets with hairy upper surfaces. The plant produces pale purple flowers that are pollinated by insects, particularly the megachilid bee Anthidium dammersi. Its fruit is a hanging legume pod that dries to a leathery or papery texture.
