Anthonotha fragrans is a tree commonly found in the rainforests of West and Central Africa. It belongs to the Fabaceae family and can grow up to 45 meters tall and 1.3 meters in diameter. The leaves are compound with 2-5 pairs of leaflets and a thick petiolule. The inflorescence is raceme type and the flowers are fragrant. This species is found in sandy or sandy loam soil in deciduous or semi-deciduous forests. It is also a host to various fungi in an ectomycorrhizal relationship.
