Acacia cyclops, also known as coastal wattle, is a shrub or small tree native to Australia. It is found along the west coast of Western Australia and into South Australia. The plant has dense, dome-shaped growth to protect against coastal winds and produces bright yellow flower heads over a long period of time. Its pods are known for their unique appearance, resembling a bloodshot eye. While it can be used to stabilize coastal sands, it has become a serious pest in southern Africa. The plant has a variety of uses for Indigenous Australians, including making flour, insect repellent, and soap. It is also used for its edible gum and wood.
