Sersalisia sericea, also known as wild prune, mangarr, and mongo, is a shrub or small tree belonging to the Sapotaceae family. It is native to Northern Australia and can be found in monsoon forests, littoral rainforests, and open forest areas. This plant can grow up to 6 meters tall, but can also produce fruit as a 1-meter shrub. Its buds and young leaves are covered in dense, rusty brown hairs, and it produces small green-white flowers that are followed by dark purple, succulent fruit containing one or two seeds. The fruit is edible and is used as a bush food by the Kunwinjku people of Western Arnhem Land, who call it "mandangnud". The seeds are also used in seed jewellery for sale to tourists in the region.
