Myrsine mezii, also known as the Hanapepe River colicwood, is a rare tree species found only on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. It belongs to the primrose family and is currently facing the threat of habitat loss. This tree is considered an endangered species by the United States government, with only five individuals remaining in two populations. Unfortunately, one of these populations consists of just a single tree that is in poor health.
