Lysimachia quadrifolia, also known as whorled loosestrife, is a herbaceous plant found in the eastern United States and Canada. It can reach a height of 1 meter and has shallow roots that may spread along the ground. The stems are usually unbranched and the leaves are spotted and hairy on the undersides. The flowers, which are yellow with a reddish center and streaked with dark resin canals, grow on long stalks from the leaf whorls. This plant is a perennial and typically grows in fens and moist prairies.
