Polemonium boreale, also known as the northern Jacob's-ladder, is a plant that is primarily found in the high arctic region. It is only found in a small area on the east coast of Greenland and is not very common. The plant is covered in long, woolly hairs and has a glandular texture. It typically grows to be 5-10 cm tall and has pinnate basal leaves with numerous leaflets. The flowers are bell-shaped and blue, and are produced in a capitate inflorescence. The plant has a strong unpleasant smell and can be found growing on gravelly slopes and in crevices.
