The plant grows in moist meadows, open woods, and along streams and lakes. It has a tall, upright habit and produces clusters of small, bell-shaped, blue-violet flowers. The flowers are fragrant and attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The leaves are lance-shaped and are arranged in pairs along the stem. The plant is a perennial and can reach up to 1.5 meters in height.

Polemonium acutiflorum, commonly known as tall Jacob's-ladder, is a flowering plant native to western Canada and Alaska. It grows in moist meadows, open woods, and along streams and lakes and has an upright habit, reaching up to 1.5 meters in height. The plant produces clusters of small, bell-shaped, blue-violet flowers which are fragrant and attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Its leaves are lance-shaped and arranged in pairs along the stem, and it is a perennial.
