Barringtonia lanceolata, also known as the fish poison tree, is a tall tree that can reach up to 30 meters in height and has a trunk diameter of up to 60 centimeters. Its bark is brown, grey, or reddish brown and has been traditionally used as a fish poison. The tree produces ovoid or fusiform fruits that can grow up to 10.5 centimeters long. It is found in forests throughout Borneo, at altitudes ranging from sea level to 1,700 meters. This tree is unique to Borneo and is not found anywhere else in the world.
