Fouquieria burragei, also known as the gulf ocotillo or pichilingue, is a unique species of perennial plant in the ocotillo genus. It is native to the gulf coast of Baja California Sur and is the only ocotillo species endemic to the peninsula. This shrub to small tree is easily distinguished by its white to rose-red flowers, which bloom after rainfall. However, this species is threatened by invasive species, tourism, coastal development, and other human activities. It was first described by Joseph Nelson Rose in 1911 and is similar in appearance to Fouquieria diguettii, but can be differentiated by its flowers. F. burragei is found in scattered populations along the coast, growing on rocky slopes with shallow soils.
