Erica trimera is a species of flowering plant that is native to the mountains of eastern and central Africa. It can grow as a shrub or tree, reaching heights of up to 12 meters. The plant has small leaves and produces clusters of 4 to 12 flowers at the ends of its branches. It is typically found in the subalpine ericaceous belt, which is a transitional zone between forests and higher-elevation grasslands and shrublands. Erica trimera is often found alongside another species, Erica arborea, and can form dense thickets or low forests. There are six recognized subspecies of Erica trimera, each with its own distribution range within the region.
