Dracophyllum filifolium is a shrub or tree species found only in the North, South, and Stewart Islands of New Zealand. It was first described by Joseph Dalton Hooker in 1853 and is known for its filament-like leaves. It belongs to the heath family, Ericaceae, and can be found on mountain slopes, saddles, and ridges, reaching heights of 1-4 meters. A 2017 assessment using the New Zealand Threat Classification System determined that it is not currently threatened, with an estimated population of over 100,000.
